What do you need to know about neuroscience and its role in well-being?

Neuroscience is an important part of my coaching.

It helps my clients better understand and change their unproductive behaviors.

I have been fortunate to meet and learn from the renowned Dr. Richard J Davidson, Founder of the Center for Healthy Minds University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Dr. Davidson is one of the foremost experts in the field of neuroscience and is recognized for his groundbreaking research on the impact of mindfulness and well-being on the brain.

What do you need to know about neuroscience and its role in well-being?

Understanding the neuroscience of how our brain works is a critical tool in reducing our reactivity.

Our brain often focuses on perceived threats and negativity - that is the pattern.

Here are the broad strokes:

  1. Neuroplasticity: Our brains are capable of change at any age, and this adaptability can be harnessed to improve well-being.
  2. Meditation: It’s not just about relaxation - it’s about transforming the brain for better emotional health.
  3. Stress: Understanding how stress impacts the brain can help us develop better coping strategies.
  4. Emotional Style: Each person has a unique emotional style, but with awareness and effort, these patterns can be adjusted for greater happiness.
